To upgrade to 7 from Vista, I unmounted my osx drive. Then I realized that I rather just get a 32 bit version of windows xp since I will be rarely using it so I deleted the windows partition. Does it matter that I never mounted my osx drive using the osx install disc?

Ok, yea. I restarted my macbook and it said please insert a bootable device. I think this is because I told it previously to boot up from the windows partition in a boot camp options menu in Windows but that partition does not exist anymore. Now, I need to hold down option to choose the Macintosh HD otherwise it will prompt me to insert a bootable device... Help would be extremely appreciated.

If you can boot with out installing a OSX DVD your still safe. Once up, open the System Preferences and open Startup Disk and set your default.

Okay, I ended up installing Windows 7 successfully. I used a program on Apple's website to unmount my OS X partition. In Apple's guide it said that it will mount back on once I boot up in 7, however, when I go to computer in 7, I only see the Boot Camp partition. Does this still mean my OS X partition is unmounted?

EDIT: I called Apple support and I was able to fix it.
