    minidisplay to dvi

    i am trying to watch a movie- macbook pro-new aluminum unibody with minidisplay port to dvi (on TV) -i use vlc software- sound works great but only see the desktop picture -no icons or whatever-i tried function keys. What am i missing to get the picture that i can see on my laptop?

    Try dragging the video from the mac screen, over to the TV. Or close the macs lid and try watching the video then. It should put everything onto one screen when you do that.
