Does anyone make a Mini-DVI to DVI cable so I can connect the MacBook directly to my monitor w/out using Apple's adapter and a regular DVI cable?

I believe Mini-DVI is proprietary and Apple owned, which could explain why 5 minutes on Google showed nothing but Apple's adapter. Looks like no luck mate.

Plus, a mini-dvi to cable? What are you hooking up to? Most monitors that support DVI come with the cable.

On a Macbook, the connector is called "Mini-DVI" I'm guessing they shrunk it in order to put something with video output on the Macbook. As for third party adapters, I think your out of luck superman23. It's 20 bucks, but if you have a big screen (like my 22") then its worth it for watching movies and what not.
