    hey,

    wellll my macbook mic is messed up. in garage band when i try to record, it makes a loud hissing noise. does anybody know whats wrong with it? oooor maybe if my mic is off and im retarded or something? i have no idea. help is appreciated!

    Well to be honest, I would never use the internal mic, it is poor quality and rather worthless. Your best bet is a USB mic so the conversion is done outside of the computer, negating interference.

    generally, if you're using the internal mic and there's hissing, you've got the recording volume cranked up too high.
