    mbp play BIOSHOCK high temp?

    i m playing BIOSHOCK with my macbookpro 2.4 8600GT 256M i got 70 degree after half hour, which makes me worried;
    is it good for macbookpro under such high temps? or it is just OK nothing to worry about

    I don't think you have anything to worry about. Most notebooks tend to get pretty hot upon gaming, especially when the game is so demanding. ;)

    I know on the desktop 8x00 series cards, as long as you are below 80C you are good to go. It could be similar on laptops. Either way, that temp does not surprise me at all.

    I know for the Core 2 Duo chips, they can withstand beyond 100 C in temperature without damage. I don't know about the graphics card.

    But 70 C is fine, 80 C is fine as well, as long as it doesn't stay that temperature for long periods.

    I assume you are playing it under bootcamp. I remember reading that the fan control in bootcamp windows is pretty bad for now, but there is a workaround - set the fans to constantly high RPM with FanControl in os x and then reboot to windows - it should lower the temp, I guess. Just be sure not to do this only while gaming.
