I am using 2.4ghz iMac with leopard and I am going to upgrade the ram [from 1gb to 4gb]. I am also using xp through bootcamp. My question is would xp recognize 4gb of ram ? I have read little bit about how it depends on hardware and processor [& theres a way to tweak memory allowance in xp] but I dont really have a definite answer.
Could someone explain, how it works or what do I need to do to take maximum advantage of available physical memory ?
Thank you

XP (x86) will only recognize roughly 3.2gb. I don't think boot camp supports the 64-bit edition of Windows yet, but that is the only way you're going to get it to recognize the full 4gb.

It's not going to read the full 4gbs, I can tell you that for sure. Only Windows Pro x64 will, and OS X Leopard of course.
