Hey I just found out that I need a mac for my collage and I have never really used one before o I don’t really know anything about them. I like playing games like warcraft 3 and HL2 can you play these games on mac and would I find it a hard transition from pc to mac?

If you give us a budget we can help you choose the right model, plus the time that you will actuallly need the computer, and what apps are going to be used. I ask this b/c apple is transitioning to intel processors, and the pro apps having been ported over yet, but they will be. Also, better machines are coming out.

Warcraft 3 is mac compatible, but it doesn't appear that HL2 is compatible.

k, then you might end up using aperature, Apples pro photo program, which should be universal by then. Since you dont need it right away, i would maybe wait for a few months untill apple releases more of there intel updated stuff. But it also depends on things like the screen size that you would like. But for photo stuff, i think a larger screen (and resolution) would prolly be nicer. I am not sure if apple is going to bring out a 12 pro book, so there smallest size would prolly be a 13 in macbook (ibook replacement).

But personally i think the 15 in screen would be much nicer, and as such, i would now have to recommend the 15 in macbook pro. But at the same time, i would maybe still wait a bit to see if they comeout with any revisions to fix any small glitches. I would also recommend buying it so that you have it for a while before your classes start so that you can get used to the system (which doesn't take long, but there are some 3rd party apps that are essential that not many people know about).
