I got a new Sony SZ 780. It's thin and pretty light. Sony's LED-backlit displays are among the best too. I like it but I'm planning to send mine back in favor of the MacBook Pro i just bought. The two things I really dislike about the Sony are the initial bloatware until you do a clean install and the keyboard isn't very good.

The macbook air is not worth it at 1800, it's basically a sexier but underpowered macbook. If you've got the cash to burn however, I think you should go for it.

All Macs come with the same software, Mac OS X & iLife. As for is it worth it...I'd say it has reasons for its pricing, which most people would not justify spending for. Say the cost of designing that thing would have been really high, so the sales price would have to be higher to pay for that. Would most people think its worth it? Probably not, since there's cheaper alternatives with similar things (MacBook). But yeah, that's up to you to decide. Its expensive, but hard to say if its overpriced, as there's a lot of behind the scenes things that need to be paid for.

The software is well worth it alone. I wish they included a FREE Anti virus year, but

Its actually a prety good product. It just doesn't fit most peoples needs but if you are in the niche than it is worth it.

If it fits your needs, it's worth it, otherwise, it's not.
