    hey,

couple of days ago i spilled a whole cup of milk-n-tea on my laptop (spanking new macbook, 2.4Ghz, 4 gb ram) and the whole liquid went inside the macbook. It was running at the time.

so i quickly turned it off, gave it a good shake for five seconds, and had to leave it and run for work.

i cam back, fired it up, and its working alright! thats good, in fact i'm using it right now. but...

they keyboard is no good. it feels like having some bubble gum under some of the keys. it is really annoying and i can say its unusable.

if i send it to apple, will they fix it under warranty ( for free)?
if i have computer accidental damage that covers this kind of accident, do i send my computer for fixing then claim the insurance? or do i report it and they handle it?

    hope hear from u soon.

    thanks.

apple have things that change colour when wet, this invalidates the warranty

If you have insurance I would contact them and work through there. Apple definitely wont fix it for free. There is supposedly sensors in the new MacBook to detect spills so your warranty is probably shot. Now if you do not have insurance I would take out the motherboard and use 97%+ alcohol to give it a cleaning. Qtips should work. The keyboard you can replace or stick it into the dishwasher to clean. Just make sure it is completely dry before you put it back in.

Apple will not fix your computer. There is a special paper that tells them your keyboard got wet. They will void your warranty. AppleCare does not cover accidental damage so you would have to have had a third party insurance for repairs.
