    Hi all,

I might jump ship and try a Mac out. I use a iBook G3 at work and tbh it sucks.

I'm considering a Asus W3J or V6J but the only things im going to use the laptop for is work (database and programming servers) and then a little gaming (football manager 2006).

Now the mac would handle these tasks with ease.

I have heard some bad things regarding heat. Can anyone here comment on this issue?

The MBP has the same internals as the Asus W3J and it looks like that might get warm after intense use, but from what i hear the MBP is very hot all of the time.

    Thanks in advance

    Darren

Well, if it's slim, then there is less room for air to flow; which result in slightly higher standard temperature. IMO the sexy form factor beat the heat. Well, the design is HOOOOOT! >.<"

Actual heat output isn't as bad as people have said. When i checked out a demo model that has been on all day running many programs b/c people don't know how to close them/don't close them, and it was still quite cool. Hot is really a matter of personal preference. Some people will consider it to be real hot b/c the case does get warm b/c the case acts as a heatsink, and to those people, they think cool means the case is cool to the touch, and hot is when the case gets warm.

So it doesn't really get any hotter then other machines, its just that the case is a heatsink, and even then, untill you really get it going, it wont get hot.

Does the 128mg GPU spec still suffer from heat problems?
