ok i was just looking how to make my screen get better colours as it seems pale.
i tried the program and it works quite well.
i changed the setting in the non expert thing from 1.8 standard to 2.2 television and its got a lot better colours.
if you use the expert setting,im sure you can get even better colours but i find it hard.
try this and im sure it will help you, post any expert calibrations if you can with screen shots. il try to make one now.
to get to it, apple logo > system pref > display > color > calibrate....

Changing the gamma from 1.8 to 2.2 increases the contrast of the colours a bit. For some, me included, that is desirable. However, for people to whom colour accuracy is more important, the gamma switch might not be the best option.

the expert mode is so confusing. i can never get it neutral, its either blueish, yellowish or redish.
i quite like the 2.2 gamma setting though. it looks a lot less pale and washed. -
you can get calibration tools for under $100 if it's that important...
I always found doing by hand/eye using expert mode was a weird way to do it...
the screens tend towards a washed out blue out of the box... I also run a 2.2 gamma to get closer to what PC users see...
macbook pro display colour calibrate.
