It's really unlikely that the price will go up. The MacBook Pro at least has already had one set of processor bumps (from 1.83 GHz and 2.0 Ghz to 2.0 GHz and 2.16 GHz), and Apple kept the prices the same.

I would expect that MBP's with the similar Merom chips will keep the same basic price point (Apple likes to stick to certain similar price points when they do product revisions and u pgrades)........ the only thing that might cost more would be if they use the 2.33 GHz Merom, but I would just as soon guess that the 2.16 GHz Merom-based MBP will replace the current 2.0 Ghz Yonah MBP at the same price point, and the 2.33 GHz Merom-based MBP will replace the current 2.16 GHz Yonah MBP.

I'd expect the regular MacBook to keep the 2.0 GHz Yonah though, or at most see a 2.0 Ghz Merom (to further differentiate the line).

I second zadillo opinion. There is not likely to be much of a change on price.

I agree with cashmonee and zadillo - there's probably going to be very small changes in pricing if it even occurs. A worst case scenario would be that Apple steps down the CPUs a level and even then, the new Merom CPUs will probably perform just as well, if not better than their higher clocked Yonah counterparts.

Agreed, they are not likely to change the pricing much, most likely not at all.

Since I haven't gathered the necessary money yet (unforeseen expenses suck :() I guess I will find out first-hand since by the time I can buy one it's likely to have been upgraded. At least something good coming out of the wait, I hope :)
