i run intel burn test on a macbook pro 13" with P7570 2.26GHz CPU, with vista 32 bit OS installed, the max temperature of CPU hits 96C which i have never seen from any other brand of laptop. quite a disappointing result.

this is because of the aluminum enclosure...this laptop gets pretty hot under cpu and gpu stress tests...

    Are you sure ?
Even my famous hot as an oven AMD Turion RM-75 can only manage 85C.

I concur. Apple engineers opted to handle cooling differently from larger chassis systems.

Worry about it if your computer fries, then get Apple to replace it.

i use coretemp 0.99.5 ( http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/) for temperature monitoring which seems to be accurate. it started from about 50C and increased quickly when cpu load kept 100%.

they aren't proactive enough on the fans, they keep them mostly reactive... it might of hit 96º but it shouldn't continue to run that hot... the fans should have sped up after the fact so even running maxed out, it should run cooler than that over time.

so you agree there's a cooling problem with the mac on windows...

I agree the way they designed it isn't how I would... I'd have it be way more proactive to prevent certain temps, instead of just reacting to certain temps.

I guess it depends how you define "problem"

There are cooling issues with Macbook Pros, but its not anything specifically with Windows.... its just how its designed to work, wether its how you'd like it to be or not.

My 15" i manually spin my fans up before I do something that will heat it up. If I let it go to default, sometimes it will hit up to 95º before the fans get up fast enough and knock it down and keep it around 85º... I don't want it that hot, but it doesn't cause a problem if I let it run the default way. Thats all on OSX, maxing out the machine.

I see high temps on my MBP5,5 2.53GHz (high 80s C) under heavy load, but I run Linux 99% of the time. It's not usually a problem unless I close the lid -- the vent is basically in the hinge so it can't effectively cool when it's closed. I don't see 96C though, that's hottttt.
