    hi, i am just starting an electronic engineering course which
    requires the use of matlab, was wondering if i bought a laptop with
    intel gma 950 (integrated graphics card) would matlab still work? i
    understand the macbook uses intel duo core and 950 graphics card,
    would it run smoothly? please help. thanks

    Not knowing what the program requires on the hardware-side of things, it is very difficult to comment on it.

    Generally speaking, the Intel GMA950 is not offering stellar performance in the majority of applications. This is especially true for newer software :)

    EDIT:
    Unfortunately it says directely that current versions of MATLAB does not run on Intel based Macs.

    hi, thanks for the reply, however i have heard that i can use bootcamp to run a windows version of matlab. so don't know if any users have dedicated graphics card that runs matlab well or any users that have macbook and using matlab via bootcamp?

    I hate to hijack your thread but I have a similar question. Will the integrated GMA graphics be able to support very light video editing? Just something to make some small changes to a homemade video, nothing special.

    Video editing should work smoothly with the MacBook - its much more CPU intensive than GPU intensive.
