    macbook cd drive stopped working

    My friends macbook cd drive stopped woring when he turned on a fan that was running thru a usb. Now in disk utilities its doesn't show up. Is there a way to get the computer to recognize the drive again.

    it was a mini house faN. but could run off usb. I dont know why he was using this thing.
