when I get my dual monitor setup many times I don't need the laptop screen. Is there a setting to turn it off or is my best bet to just turn the brightness own all the way on the macbook?

I'd also like to know how this is done... if at all possible. Under bootcamp I can select my digital screen as my only monitor (no extended desktop) but under Mac OSX 1.5 it doesn't seem to be possible to ONLY use my 22" TFT and not the laptop screen (... I hate it when I 'loose' my mouse, cause it's on the other screen)..

Here's what I do.....
In System Prferences/Display, make sure you have a check in "Show displays in menu bar".
Close the lid on your MacBook and click on the Displays icon in the menu bar. Select "Detect Displays" and your MB will turn off the laptop display and only use the external display.
*I also have InsomniaX running to avoid sleeping when I close my MB lid. -
Wouldn't that cause heat issues?

Sorry, should have included that I then re-open the lid about halfway.
