    hi everyone...

i´m from Mexico.. and here the notebooks are very expensive, the baseline macbook it´s 1205 usd +15% of taxes... but i want a mac because of the desing and the OS.

i will mainly use it for university stuff like ms word, excel and power point, so i checked it in office max.. since we dont have apple stores here, and it was very slow with ms programs, the guy told that me that it was so slow cuz the app wast universal and that if i would put more memory it would run faster... how much memory do i need?

sorry for the bad spelling and gramar... english has never been my strong point

1GB at least, 2GB is recommended. Because those apps were running through Rosetta, which makes them run a little bit slower than usual.
