    hey guys,

i recently started working in my family business. now in my office we use outlook to check mails n send them. n i configured my mac mail to get the mails on my laptop as well. i wanted to know if its ok to configure the same email id on outlook n my mac mail. i mean will both the applications get mails or whichever sync's first will get it.

if its latter then how can i make sure tht both get the mails regularly.

    thanks

As long as you set both clients to use either imap or (if using pop3) set the messages to be left on the server for a period of time even when downloaded, then you will be able to get the same messages on both clients.

^^^ This. If you configure them as POP3, and don't leave the messages on the server, then only the client that reaches ther server first will receive the message.

Much easier to use IMAP, as then you can retrieve your mail on a larger number of clients, such as your PC, laptop, and your mobile phone all together.

For example, I collect my mail from the same account on my MacBook Pro, my iPad, and my iPhone, and it all works perfectly.

Added bonus to this, when you check it from one client, it will update all others to show you its read. That was you don't read the same mail multiple times.
