I'm looking for a stand for my MBP. mStand by Rain Design caught my eye as it is (in my opinion) a good looking stand. However, I was wondering if it is worth the money or if there is a better stand for a cheaper that would do just as well.

Opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got the iLap, I bought it one year and a half ago. I still use it and it still looks great.

Rain Design makes quality stuff. So yeah, I think it's totally worth it!

There's not really anything better, there is a griffin elevator. But the mStand is nicer.

I wish I still had accesses to a machine shop, I could make a nice stand for less then half the price of either of those stands :(

I have a griffin elevator. it was cheaper and essentially does the same thing. No problems with it so far.

I like Griffins Aluminum stand better, the 2 L shapes.

I use it with a 17" MBP with no problems. I don't like how the Rain one tilts the computer so far forward, I like to use the MBP base as a small table for things. ^_^

I have the Rain Design mStand

The way it looks with the unibody pro on it, just completes the setup with my 24" LED cinema display.
Abit of a price, but worth it.

I also have the mStand and can say that it is worth the price in my humble opinion. First time I took it out of the box, I was really impressed by the weight: not a feature to be underestimated when you trust it to carry your beloved Mac. It's a very stable stand, and it fits seamlessly with the Unibody design and finishing. I wish it would only have an option to adjust the height. However, still comes highly recommended.
