I received my MBP on the 4th so it sadly didn't have iLife 2008 but when I called Apple they said they were going to ship it to me for free! :) Looking at the status page it appears that it'll ship today.

Nukey, how did you get them to do that? I didn't get mine until the 7th, so I should be able to convince them to ship it to me for free too.

well first impression is dang nice job, the packaging impressed the hell out of me, and opened to scren to see that there where no dead pixels or discoloration and it included ilife 08 I am pritty impresed right now, but I cant really give any good idea till I have more time to play with it

only thing bugging me is the track pad, I am used to having the click drag (duble tap hold an drag with th pad ) but it releases it wierd, I have to let go of the pad for way to long for it to release the item from "drag" and it dosnt auto slow move if I reach the end of the pad while draging something so it makes pad only draging a pain in the but. but not that big of a deal, just got to use regular click draging.

also is there a way to let me use thefar right side of the pad to scroll in windows ?

You can do a 360-multidirectional scroll by placing one finger on the touchpad, and then dragging another in the direction you want to scroll in.

Did it detect and upgrade / remove iLife 06 automatically?

Yea, kind of sucks. I suddenly had the urge to use GarageBand and don't feel like paying another $70 :p

Ah well I'll live with it.

Oh sweet! I didn't check the discs that came with my MBP. I also ordered on July 25th. Hopefully one of the discs has it. Was it on a disc by itself? Or bundled with other applications?

yeah lol ilife 06 works fine

garageband is a great tool. garageband 08 has to be a minor update at most.

    (using logic express)

but i still use garageband sometimes just because its a great simple tool.

Its as simple as dragging the application to the Trash. Voila! Uninstalled.

Although that method will usually leave some preferences or folders behind. These files won't bother you nor will they distract any application from running properly, but they do take up hard drive space. I recommend using AppDelete (a free third-party program) to uninstall applications. AppDelete will uninstall the program as well as files related to the program, and leave them in the Trash. However check over the files quickly before emptying the trash; AppDelete does a quick name scan over your system so you don't want a critical file deleted because its name was related to an application you were deleting.

Yes, you can install from scratch from the disc as well.

This is great to hear! I ordered mine on the 5th, so hopefully mine will have '08 too. Not that I'm really going to use all of the features, but hey...still useful!
