I want to be able to share some files I'm working on (on my mac laptop) that won't be complete until I'm in an area without wifi.

I have my laptop, an iPhone, and a USB cable if necessary, but wireless is preferred. Free solutions only. What do I do? So much rep is in the pipe for this.

good try, but it doesn't seem to be working... the dropbox ios app won't let me upload anything (from my iphone) except photos and videos, and it wont accept file transfers via itunes as in the link you provided.

Dropbox is integrated with many iOS apps, so you can work on docs and still upload to Dropbox to share with your devices.

For example, Documents to Go ( App Store - Documents To Go® - Office Suite ) allows for local Wifi syncing with your desktop, as well as the many sync services (Dropbox, SugarSync, etc).

    No cable required.

We're getting there. I need an application that can accept documents and then allow me the opportunity to open them with DropBox.

Your solution meets most of my criteria, except the cost.
