Hi, i'm thinking about buying the middle-range priced macbook, in sweden that goes for about 1100 euros (11000 SEK), while in the US it goes for about 720 euros, now say I from now have a 1 week opening to buy my macbook in the US, is it worth it considering a new update to the macbook is coming soon? (rumors say september I think?)

Basically im asking if its better to buy a 720 euro macbook right now, or wait for the update and buy it for 1100 euros (assuming the macbook doesn't get more expensive after the update).

    Thanks.

Edit: Does buying my macbook in the US effect my warranty in any way? or can I return it for maintainance in sweden if it comes to that?

First of all, if you need something now it's not a good idea to wait for an as-yet unannounced product refresh. Secondly, you would be saving about 1/3 the cost so I would go for it. Lastly, buying in the US and getting service in Sweden is probably a question for Apple before you buy. There are a couple of more questions about buying in the US that deserve consideration... Does it cost more because of tariffs? Could you get hit for taxes on the way back home with the machine?

I always like saving money but there are some exceptions. I require the right to return stuff without question. I expect stuff to work as advertised or it goes back. I would be very reluctant to buy something as complex as a notebook while on international travel and then possibly get stuck.

Thanks for the reply r0k, the notebook is intended for the university so I don't need it "right now", as I could probably wait about 2~ months max, as of taxes I could just open the plastic before I travel and say that "it's been used", i'll have to look up more about the international warranty and see how it would effect me.

Yeah, I'd wait if I were you. Just think if they get on the whole Aluminum Macbooks and all the new goodies they can fit in, and if you buy one now, you'll be pissed off after the refresh :D

    Not sure about the warranty.
