    hey guys,

    i noticed recently that whenever i received an .jpg file in a mail. i try to open it by the image is all dark. although from the same mail if i open in another pc then its bright n the way it should be.

    any ideas as to what is happening to my poor mac.

    btw m thinking of switching to the new macbook air 13 inch. any ideas if its value for money? or should i stick to mac pro or macbook.

    Strange issue. I routinely get images (PDFs, JPEGs, TIFFs, PNGs etc..) sent to me and I open them on the mac side (in Preview) and they always look spot-on, and exactly as they would on the Windows side on the same machine.

    Has your display been calibrated or using a calibration file of some sort? Maybe the calibration is out of whack. That's the only thing I can think of. You can try printing the image and see if it matches what's on screen for a quick-and-dirty calibration check.
