    imac hard drive crash how do i reinstall from restore cds?

    our iMac 2008 hard drive crashed and died so i install a new hard drive but for some reason it wont let me restore the cds to the new hard drive.

    Does anyone know what combination of the 4 buttons do i hold down to reset my imac?\

    does anyone know how to reinstall Mac OS X from the original discs to a new hard drive that keeps booting up into Linux boot loader?

    I tried holding down the option key but it wont work it keeps booting straight to the linux boot loader :(

    any help pleaes?

    ok my daughter fixed it up thanks :)

    she knew the four key combo to reset some hardware :)

    Hold down C, and you will boot the DVD. Hold the Apple logo, and you will be given the choice of which disc to boot.
