    not surprising as tiny little thin as this thing is.

    screen assembly is marginally thinner than last year and with enough paitence you could swap a panel in last years models. but routing cables THROUGH the hinges could be a wear issue.

    maybe it appears that way, but I have a previous model 15 and 17 I can sit by my Retina model, its its probably 33% skinnier in the screen.... I don't have a fine enough measure device to measure.

    its at least a milimeter but I have ot eyeball it because i don't have a caliper or anything useful... it might be partly optical illusion because the old model bends abruptly at the ends and a big noticle curve, but the Retina model doesn't. The over volume of the screen section is definitely a lot less because of this... it might be less than a millimeter at its thickest point, but it has a whole lot of points thats much thinner.
