I am thinking of buying this when I get my macbook, if anyone has it can they write a "small review" or just some general information about it, I've read what they had to say at the apple store and it wasn't very detailed. Thanks

ArmanSLR,
Next Jan. it's suppose to come out with '07 and it's rumored to have 'Charts' a new program within the page. Now, I tried iWork'06 and it only has Keynote and Pages right now, not worth paying what they are asking so far, however the next version is suppose to be more integrated with OS X as a whole and some newer features in the two current programs.
Pages is nice, it has nice templates you can use for family things and a few school stuff as well, it appears to easily become a replacement for microsoft office, which gives me the thought thats what iWorks is going to be, we haven't seen any new microsoft products in a long while, so its safe to assume that Apple has to make their own office products now. My only concern is that Pages can save in file formats that microsoft office can understand for when I go back to college. I still have to look more into it (yes I have iWorks'06)
keynote is the replacement to powerpoint, but its lacking a quite a bit right now, hopefully with 07' will fix. I'm sure you could wait a couple extra months before purchasing iWorks right?
I don't think they will do upgrade pricing either. -
Ok, Thanks. I think I will spend that 50 bucks and get Call of Duty 2, I love this game on my friends xbox 360. Thanks

Do you think that the Pages word processor would be a good substitute for MS Word? I do a lot of straght word processing (e.g. memos, papers, other writing). ANd if I decide to go with the Macbook, I was wondering what word processor to get. It'd just buy MS Office 2004, but I think its a little slower because its not yet univeral.

As for Memos, papers and other such writing it should be fine, I took a look at the templates and they have all those and more. It's just a different layout from MS Office 2004. There aren't buttons for every single command. A new Mac comes with a 30 day trial of iWork as well. Make a decision than.
iWork'06 also has just plain blank documents as well.
Update:
I've actually tried Pages a bit more tonight, and was a bit suprised about what you could do in it, such as any templates are already filled with your information such as address and all.
The Invoice template was pretty neat as any changes you made such as a price of a product, it automatically calculated the new total.
One last thing, I feel stupid about this, but apparently if you use Pages to write something, you can save it in microsoft office format. go figure, apparently Apple thought it all out already.
I actually would recommend the product now, however i think its worth waiting those few more months for iWork'07 anyways. -
Call of Duty 2 is the ****. Can't wait till part 3 comes out in Nov. -
