Is it possible to make iTunes store different artist, but same album into 1 folder instead of spreading it out? I hate having multiple folders for the same album in my library. I makes it so confusing when looking for my music.

I think you have to go into "get info" and make everything the same. I dont have my mac with me, but I remember doing something like that. :)

In the info tab of get info, check the box for part of compilation.

Yes select all the tracks> then get info (cmd+I)> then make the "artist" field all the same person.

I know I can make the artist the same to put them in to same folder, but I don't want to because the artist are not the same. I just want every track that is in that album to be in the same folder, regardless of whatever.

I too was frustrated with this. I never was able to get it to work out so that I could have it both ways and cross reference it. If you do figure it out, please post what you learned.

There has to be a common denominator between all the songs. In this case I assume it's the album name, have you tried putting all the songs under the same album?
And the other thing, the album artist also has to be the same for them all.
In my case, i have all the songs from "Scrubs" in one folder, and I called that folder various artist (this is where the album artist makes the difference) and the subfolder will be Scrubs Season 1 (this is the album name), while having different artist for each song.

Hope I didnt confuse you and hopefully it helps. Let me know how it works out.

Was my first post unclear?

I'm pretty sure it solves the problem described. Since it appears that people cannot find it or simply choose not to see it, here is the link to my original response (which happens to be the 3rd post on this very page) click here, or just scroll up http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4750433#post4750433
