    Hi guys...

OK, I have recently purchased an external HD which is Firewire and USB 2.0. I've already used it to share files between my desktop and my mac. I have also done a backup with that HD. It's really great and useful.

Now, I copyed my music to it in order to free up some of my desktop hd space. But now, I syncronized my itunes with that external HD. I 've got also some music on my macbook and I would like to listen to it without the external HD.

Is there a way in iTunes in which that music will ONLY show up when connected??? Thanks a lot

One way would be to make a playlist of the songs on your HD and a playlist of songs on your HD and external HD.

You can have multiple iTunes libraries. Then you can hold down the option key while opening iTunes to select different library.

Start iTunes while holding down the option key. You will get a dialog that gives you three options, quit, create library, choose library. Click create library and there you go. I am not sure if iTunes just uses the last list or if it has a default. But if you hold down the option key while launching, you will be able to choose.
