Okay, so since I'm going to update to a Macbook Pro soon, after they update them, i want to know what will happen to my very large collection of iTunes music and movies. I have heard that the computer you buy the songs on is the computer the songs and movies are locked too. Is this true or will i be able to transport my library over to my new computer via external HDD or flash drive?

That is not true :). You can authorize up to 5 computers to play your iTunes purchased songs and movies! So it's not a problem. To keep all your music settings like the play count and ratings, just press File and Export as well as Export Library, and on the new mac just replace the existing iTunes files with the old ones and you will get the settings!

If you won't be using the old computer anymore you can consider deauthorizing that computer from iTunes, but it's not really necessary since you get 5 computers to authorize!

I currently have iTunes running on windows and the songs and movies download directly to my external HD but are inside my library as well, so when i get my new macbook can i just connect my external HD to the macbook and drag the files from the external HD to the macbook hard drive and then drag them into iTunes? right?

    Yes.

You then simply need to authorize the machine to play the content, which would simply involve entering your Apple ID and password.

    :)

Nice. Now when will Apple be offering HD content.

I am not in the mood to spend anymore money on a BR player. Especially since my XBOX 360 HD DVD drive is now USELESSSSSSSSSSS..

    Damn you Blu-Ray.

That's because it's only available through AppleTV.

Yeah, iTunes movies are available in HD when rented/purchased through AppleTV. I believe its 720p though, and not 1080p. But its still great! I hate watching 480i on my HDTV, it just ruins things :p.
