So I was reading my Cult of Mac book (great book btw) and it was talking about the Apple commerical that was only aired once during the superbowl back in 1984, and was never aired again.

Now I found this video on google video and I noticed something on the womans belt when she throws the large hammer.

Is it just me or does that look a LOT like an iPod, or it is an ipod?

    Heres a link

    UPDATE:

Ah excuse this post, I just found out that apparently Apple remade this commerical and added some things. Anyways they did a great job at it!

I really believed for a second there was an ipod back in 1984.

Actually, that is an iPod and that add was "originally" released just once back in 1984 and was remade with the iPod recently.

As a matter of fact, Apple tried to not release that add as they weren't very happy with it, and they even tried to sell that air-spot since the add they made for it (the original one) was not up to their standard, but no other company would buy the air-spot due to short notice; hence, Apple had to run that add once.

What you saw now is not the original add but the remake that was done for the iPod.

I knew there was something different right away in the beginning of the Ad, it seemed somewhat different but especially in the end where she toss the hammer at the screen it 'blew up' differently from the original.

Ironically, only three days ago I was in a book store looking around and came across a book about the worst ads ever made, and one of them was the Apple commercial you mentioned here (that's how I know about it).

    Worst ad ever made?

That Apple ad is considered by many to be one of the greatest ads ever, I saw it on TV once on a tv show called "Worlds best TV ads" talk about irony alright.
