Does anyone know if the 1.1.4 update for the IPod Touch wipes out the new software that Apple recently launched (Google Maps, Notes, YouTube, Calendar, Contacts, etc.)? I do NOT want to lose these!

    Absolutely not! :)

    That'd be absolutely terrible :p.

But a note, Contacts, Calendar and YouTube are already on the original iPod Touch software :).

Thanks for the quick reply Sam! So the new software that Apple released in January will remain intact, correct? Including any data that they had like my locations that I put in Google maps for instance?

Thanks guys. Everything worked perfectly with the update. All my apps are there and the info stored within them is intact also.

The update seems as if it sped some things up... what else did the update bring?

Apple only describes that the update fixes some bugs, but I'm pretty sure (especially because of the size of the update) it opens the iPhone to third party apps once Apple releases the SDK on March 6 (official release date).

I heard that when browsing in Safari, multiple pages retain their info rather than going to a white screen? Can't verify that quite yet since my iPhone is still on 1.1.3.
