Or should i try and get them to lower the price?

Its an 80GB iPod classic black that was bought new last summer, it has always been in a case.

I looked on eBay and it seems like a good deal but eBay prices are always high for that kind of stuff.. I am debating if I should wait for the 3g iPhone to be released.

i'd give you mine for $150 if you wanna keep the transaction in NBR

    (no ebay fees!)

the iphone is a much larger purchase. it costs about 8-10x the ipod after the contracts and everything.

I got mine for about that price and I have no regrets. Mine was also kept in a case so there is rarely any scratch marks to be seen. As for waiting for the 3G iPhone I think you should consider how much music you are going to have because the iphone goes up to only 16GB as oppose to the classics 80gb. Personally I would get the ipod because I have thousands of songs and I need around 80gb. If you want a phone with the added space to put a few hundred songs and some video and also sign a 2 year contract with At&t wait for the iphone

I'll sell you my 30gb 5G Black iPod (which has been covered with an invisible shield since day 1), including the original box, accessories, etc. for $80.
