Is there a way to set wallpapers or something without jailbreaking my iPhone cause I've been trying to avoid doing so cause of warranty.

Go to settings > wallpaper and you will get options...should have an option to choose from wallpapers or camera roll (in the event you want to use a personal picture). There is also a way other wallpapers, but I can't remember atm...just google (adding/changing iphone wallpaper)....bill

What about changing the srpingboard background? Cause so far all I know about is jailbeaking and using winterboard to create themes and change the background on the springboard.

Without jailbraking, you will only be able to change the wallpaper of the lock screen, sucks I know, totally ridiculous. Anyway, jailbraking is really easy, this is how my iPhone looks.

I really don't understand Apple and the iPhone. No copy/paste, no bluetooth file transfer, no way to customize UI, I mean, it's either their way or the highway, in this case the highway being jailbreaking :p lol. It's still the best multi-purpose device I've ever used.

Likewise here, okay so I've been doing more research into jailbreaking it. Since you're jailbroken it have you had any issues with apps, or the phone lagging?

Plus with the firmware I'll have to downgrade back to 2.2 this post is what sold me along with replies.

I'm just worried about having to restore and losing all my contacts if something should happen

Okay so upon further searching and reading I've come across this through the QuickPWN site and linked to forum "

"iPhone 3G users: Do not upgrade to firmware 2.2.1 if you want to unlock your iPhone 3G because it permanently updates your baseband and you can't use yellowsn0w iPhone 3G unlock with the newest baseband."

So I'm not quite sure what to do now, it's kinda funny and ironic to me I bought my iPhone 3g and then the next night the update comes around while I was still contemplating jailbreaking it and today I was sold and com to find out I might not be able to do so. Any ideas?

Scratch that there is a new QuickPWN for firmware 2.2.1 I just jailbroke my iPhone 3g so far everything is great I got winterboard along with BossPrefs the only thing you cannot do is unlock the iPhone 3g after you upgrade the firmware there is no yellowsn0w for the new firmware so the new jailbreak is only for people who use AT&T
