I'm thinking of getting my parents an iMac for Christmas this ear, the 21 inch to be specific. The dual core is more than enough for them(browser and skype users), but I'd like to know if there have been any rumors of the i5 coming to the 21 inch iMacs sometime in January. I heard something about this when hey were fist releasx but would like more info.

Also, do the apple store and bestbuy charge restocking fees for iMacs? My dad wants a Dell I think so i'd like to return the iMac for no extra charge if possible.

Xcuse my grammar, I'm using the Jesus phone

The mac store charges a restocking fee. Best buy, technically does, but you can usually get it waived.
    Presumably, they'll get i5s....

That's for opened products only right? I'm hoping neither charge for unopened returns.

Lastly, if I buy at bestbuy will I get tha great apple support at any apple store? Say something breaks on warranty, can I go into an apple store and have them fix it regardless if purchased at bestbuy?

After Best Buy's Exchange policy expires, you gotta hit up the Apple Store.

Well I really wouldn't save money if I got a Dell because he wants a fast one with i7, 8 gigs ram, etc

I wanna get the iMac because 1. I wanna play with it :p and 2. They really don't know what they need and getting em that Dell is stupid.

I dunno, iv still got some time to decide what I'll do.

The last two times I told them to get an iMac they claimed they suck and that they cost too much. I have a feeling they'll like em if they actually try it.

a ton of money to drop on something they "might like if they try it." But it's all good, if they only use it for what you say they use it for, then it shouldn't matter much so long as you set it up with the software they like and you show them some of the basic differences between OSX and windows.

Also, Rightzoom is a sweet little program which fixes a complaint a lot of windows users have about osx... the green button doesn't cause the window to fill the screen all the time... as the expand button in windows does. Sure it's minor, but you get used to that functionality and not having it is annoying!

    :D

Well that's the thing. Their basic computer operation is turning it on, clicking the Internet explored or skype icons, clicking the x to exit, and then shutdown.

They really hae no use for a powerful computer but their old Dell laptop is a pos so I'd like to get them something new.

And that's why I asked about the return policy. If they absolutely hate it I'll return it.
