When I reinstalled Mac OS X, I now have iLife '06, and its not even registered, anyone know how I would get iLife '08 back?

That's weird...so you had iLife '08 at first and after you reinstalled it became iLife '06?

hmm, maybe they pre-loaded with different discs.. And the ones they gave you were out of date. I'd call them up and get new discs sent to you.

It really doesn't bother me, I'll probably just buy iLife '08 with Leopard in October. I really don't need it anyway.

Just a note, OneXero, you know iLife comes with the Mac and the OS, right? So if you buy Leopard in October you don't get iLife with it. Just in case you didn't realize.

I'm skipping iLife '08 and I'm buying the next version of iLife. Each new version has its improvements but I can't afford buying every new version if it :p.

I said I was going to "buy" it with leopard. =P That and iWork, then I'll go find some cheap Photoshop/Dreamweaver CS2.

Speaking of which where does it show the version # to know which you have? I'm sure mines Ilife 06 on the macbook I purchased in store in May. That and theres a trial of Iwork 06 on this comp. But where can I find out besides that?

When you start one of the iLife 08 applications, it'll say "GarageBand 08" or XXX 08...

Also, under the menu bar -> About (e.g. GarageBand > About), it'll say 08.

The iMovie icon is also different - it's a star now.

you shouldn't have to buy it again if it came with your computer. just call/go to the store and ask them for a disk.

I agree with stealthsniper...if you originally got iLife '08 with that MBP, no sense in getting it again. When did you order/receive your MBP?

I received it last Friday. I will probably just remove iLife, I have no use for it, but I don't know, I'll see what happens.

Since your MBP is brand new, you can opt to get the up-to-date disc from Apple for a low low price of $10. Here's the link on the whole deal: http://www.apple.com/ilife/uptodate/
