My bro's G4 ibook suddenly froze last night on him. The screen started to flicker with lines. After restarting the comp, the system would go to a blue screen and just hang. I am not personally familiar with Macs but I checked the hard drive and it wasn't a problem. I was unable to boot into safe mode or boot of a CD. Maybe I was not doing it right but I followed the process on the Apple Support site. Any advice? I'm guessing it could be the logic board. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It is most likely a hardware failure. The motherboard and video card are both possibilities; either way you would have to replace the motherboard, which is an expensive repair and possibly more costly than the value of the laptop itself. Unless its under warranty, the best course of action would be to look at MB prices and go from there.
