    ahhhhhh i just spent 300 bucks getting stuff for my macbook pro and i still havent bought it yet!

    some of the things i bought
    booq m2 case - 60
    hard drive - 101
    external hard drive casing - 160
    verbatim dvds - 20
    keyboard cover - 20

    this thread is stupid as i realized just now.

    You spent $160 on a hard drive casing? I hope thats with the hard drive :-D

    lol You forgot to get the DVI to VGA and the DVI to VGA adapters...

    nope it does not have a hard drive inside but its one of those sata compatible firewire800 casing. Not many around.

    Yeah, definently aren't a lot of those around. Still... Thats a lot of money.
    Especially when good external USB2/FW400 cases are under $50.
    Besides, both IDE and SATA drives will saturate the channel anyway, so both 7200 rpm SATA and IDE will have the same performance.

    MBP comes with a DVI to VGA adapter.

    well i had a 80 sata lying around so i didnt want to buy ide case and an ide hard drive. as for the case it carries 2 sata hard drives so the price is steep, but justified. and it looks sexy as hell. heres the link.

    Ohhh!!! It's a raid enclosure. Thats makes more sense. Though, I wonder if raid will improve teh results over fw800. I'm not really sure, but I think a single drive can sitll max out a fw800 connection. But hrm... makes me want to try one!
    Too bad I don't have a fw800 port on my MBP.

    you find me one that holds 2 hard drives, is sata, and firewire800 for a cheaper price and ill agree with you.
