Ok, soo im going to be starting college soon, and used to LOVE windows. This past year i got the work with a mac at school, with the os right before tiger, and i fell in love with it, screw windows is all i have to say. Because of that im thinking of getting a macbook for college.

With my job, college, and gf i wont have really hardly any time to game, but i do have a desktop capable of playing the games i like, but i wouldnt mind playing world of warcraft on my mac book. My question is, will the mac book play it with good graphics? THANKS

The mackbook uses Intel's 950 GMA chipset; an outstandingly... bad graphics chip. Its prob the worst video card out right now and won't run WoW on high, thats for sure.

lol, well I have to agree with instapho's analogy.

Macs arent designed for gaming really at all, especially OS X which you seem to be saying you'll use from now on becuase you hate Windows now. Don't expect much is all I have to say especially from the Macbook. I have it and tried Civ 4 Mac version and wasn't exactly impressed but nonetheless it ran, however I didnt adjust any settings as well so it probably could have ran better.

If you put Windows on it to use for gaming only your experience should be better, but again don't expect much.

One last thing, you shouldn't be playing games during college anyways, its horrible time consumer ;)

Yeah, you got that right. AT SCHOOL. Macs are good for everything EXCEPT gaming.

generally yes..because they trade thinness and sexiness for the ability to cool a gpu..the macbook pro is the only one with x1600 and even that is severely underclocked yet still heats up like crazy...there's lots of options out there though..if you want a 13.3" screen there's the w7j with 7400 which is decent for games and much cheaper than macbook..you also don't pay extra for the color black :)

I'd also look at the Asus W3J if you were going for a small Windows gaming machine as well.

Well, just to offset the naysayers - you can definitely play WoW on it, just don't expect high settings to be an option. It should run it just fine however, and if you are playing on that small a screen anyway it might not matter as much :)
But, that's just my opinion. Up to you to decide what is important, good graphics settings in WoW or an otherwise kickass Macbook ;)
