    Click File and select Export...

You should be able to pick it up from there :).

Wow, that's weird. It should work fine...

I just tested it with the Pages trial on my MacBook. It exported to Word fine.

Try restarting Pages if you can. See if you can export it then. It should work fine.

It's probably best to completely remove iWork and reinstall cause I have never had any issues with iWork converting to either Excel or Word. My extra 2 cents, my Windows friends like the spreadsheet graphics from Numbers when I send them a converted Excel sheet. :)

Call Apple and tell them you'd like to get the issue resolved on your system before you make the purchase, and it is therefore crucial to your decision of actually buying the software or not - since there'd be no sense buying the full version if you'd just run into the problem again.

Then ask them to give you a 30-day license key so you have some more time to work out the problem :p

Haven't encountered this error yet. Maybe the problem is not Pages, but your document. Was Pages the original application that created the document, otherwise what was the original source?

If the document is not private and you would like me or someone else to see if we can export it to Word, you could attach it here or send a PM with a link to download (You can't attach files in a PM for some reason). Although, I think we may just get the same error message and that would simply rule out my idea and leave you nowhere closer to a resolution. It's worth a try.

yea, i created it in pages. i wanted to see how it was, so i just opened up pages, typed in some random stuff, and clicked export to word. the status bar got about 15% of the way through andthen it gave me the error message. i erased the trial and am now re-downloading it to see if it will work.
