I just got a Mac which was fine, but I am a new Macuser and dont know which vedio player is great? have tried Realone for Mac (free downloaded) which supports playing some kinds of vedio formats. Is it possible to get a better one for free?

Welcome.
First off I would check out the Mac Gems thread here, you will find many programs listed in there that will help. If you want to use quicktime to view videos, I suggest Perian, it's basically a plugin for your quicktime that enables a lot of different types of videos to be viewed, as well as get Flip4Mac from Microsofts site and this will add WMV functionality. Both are free.
Now if you want a free player, many here recommend either Mplayer OS X or VLC. VLC is a bit easier in terms of controlling the video then MPlayer OS X, however Mplayer has better post processing capabilities if thats something thats important to you. If you want to use Quicktime because its built in, but don't like that you have to pay for the option of full screen, there are workarounds to get it to display in full screen mode by use of AppleScript. -
Thanks xbandaidx, thats really helpful. i am gonna try them.
