    I read somewhere, if you are a student and join developer u will get upto 20% discount on mbpro. if you buy from Macmall you are gonna get extra about 5% discount. Totally 25%

    Is that true ?

    The 20% true, but the ADC Student Membership costs $99, and you can only use the discount once per lifetime, and it's only valid on the Apple online store.

    well, the student will get ~15% discount. so 5%(20%-15%) of $2000=$100. so you'll actually be making $1 profit. :D :D

    Not in the US. The student discount in the US is a dollar amount, not percentage. $100 for the high end models, and $50 for the low end models.

    Some schools apply "additional" discounts on top of the standard Apple academic pricing.

    That's true, although I have never heard of it being more than 10-12%, unless its a close out item. I know that in the UK, higher education customers get an automatic 15% discount + 3 year warranty extension on their macbook pro purchases.
