If you can connect over the network and print, what is the problem?

Well, if the printer doesn't support Mac OSes, then I would try and get another, more updated printer, as that will most likely support Mac OS X (look at HP Photosmarts/InkJets). I have an iMac and tried to get it to print on my old Lexmark, but it wouldn't work. When we got our shiny new HP Phototsmart, it worked just fine. Also - the Windows desktop must recognize the Mac first before the Mac can print off of the Windows desktop.
