This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     okay, so inherited my dad's old ibook. it runs on os 9.1 since my dad likes the classic more than the newer os although we do have an os x install cd (not tiger though).

    here's my problem ... i tried to install the os x software (i think it's os x 10.0 or something like that) and every time i install it would stop halfway through the process and says something like "couldn't write file. please restart installation". so i restarted the installation process but it still comes up with that message.

    anyone know what's this all about?? i know it's an old ibook (dad bought it late 2001 i think) but i'm hoping i can just go ahead and fix it.
