okay, so inherited my dad's old ibook. it runs on os 9.1 since my dad likes the classic more than the newer os although we do have an os x install cd (not tiger though).

here's my problem ... i tried to install the os x software (i think it's os x 10.0 or something like that) and every time i install it would stop halfway through the process and says something like "couldn't write file. please restart installation". so i restarted the installation process but it still comes up with that message.

anyone know what's this all about?? i know it's an old ibook (dad bought it late 2001 i think) but i'm hoping i can just go ahead and fix it.
