If its 4 months old the best thing to do is take it to the Apple store. Apple customer service is probably the best customer service I've seen. They'll pretty much help you with anything. Plus it'll be faster then people on the internet trying to diagnose the problem when it could be anything.

The problem is I bought it in the US
I am wondering if taking it to the Apple Store in my country will void the warranty.

It shouldn't void the warrant as I believe AppleCare is international. If you have Lion installed, have you tried booting off of the small restore partition to repair OS X? If you have Snow Leopard installed, have you tried booting off of the DVD that came with your system to repair OS X?

Well I am out of town, so when I reach back home I will try the Booting DVD which came with my computer.

I however noticed that when I am using Windows in boot camp I can access all my files on the Macintosh Hard Drive ***and I notice that I have a lot more storage space on the Macintosh side of the hard drive than I had before which means that something is missing.

When did you do Boot Camp? Did you just finish installing Windows? If so hopefully you did not reformat your OSX partition.... I had a friend do this by mistake once. Anyway just a thought....but the advice to follow is to boot to the original OSX DVD and repair OSX.... hope this helps.

Just had another thought...you can boot into Windows without a problem? If you hold down the power button until it shuts down then press power again...does it boot into Windows? If so it just needs to know to boot into OSX. In Windows go down to the task bar in the lower right hand corner and choose the down arrow marker and click on the Boot Camp icon. then choose boot to OSX and see what happens.

I went back home and it booted in OSX .
    Boot time was slow
loading of desktop files and folders were slow
Most applications work instead of itunes and Safari.

I restarted it and the problem started again- just not booting.
I am replying to this post from the Bootcamp login of the said machine.

I installed bootcamp the same day I got the Machine about 4 months ago and never had a problem with either OS.

I never knew MACs would just suddenly not boot (especially a new machine).

They can if certain files are deleted or if there is a physical problem with the hard drive. As previously stated, boot to the DVD that came with your system (only if you have Snow Leopard installed) and repair OS X.

It sounds like a hardware problem.... I would take it to an Apple store. they have excellent customer service. They do support boot camp installations so your warranty is still intact.... hope this helps...let us know what happens.

Well, I reinstall OSX and Bootcamp and everything seems fresh and nice for now. I am just wondering what could have cause this behavior of not booting in the first place and how could I prevent this type of inconvenience in the future.

Seen that my Machine is under warranty, should I bring it back to Apple to have it checked or replaced?

Am I the only one up in here that has a 4 months old Macbook Pro that suddenly does not boot?

    Couple of other quick questions:
    1. I forgot how to have the path listed at the bottom of the folder in finder.

    2. How do I rename the computer owner without reinstalling the OS?

I doubt that it's a hardware problem but since it's easy to test go ahead and do it.
In newer MacBooks you can press the f2 (D for MBA) key before the chime as you are booting up and enter the hardware test mode...
