I bought a white Macbook recently online with the 80gb harddrive addon. Now when I got the Macbook I notice the harddrive space is only 57gb. Does this mean that they gave me the stock 60gb harddrive? If I goto the Apple store and ask for the 80gb HD will they give me a brand new Macbook or will they open up mine and replace it?

Its 57 Gigs because of all the built in software, which you can delete if you want. I deleted the Windows Office Trail and Keynote Trail, and all the trail software giving my 60gig HD that stated at 35 I think, is now up to 38 gigs.

You got the correct HD. Ctrl click on your HD and click get info. It will tell you total and available HD space. You can delete trial programs as suggested and delete printer drivers and languages you don't use to free up even more space.

    Wait you deleted Keynote?

Haha, wow Keynote and Pages is like the best office programs I have seen as of yet, its well worth keeping, I hardly would call anything that Apple puts on their OS X as bloatware or anything.

NeoOffice might have more programs at the moment, but no where in terms of the integration as iWorks has, basically anything you do in iWorks can be transferred to any other OS X program for further enchancement or improvements. As well as how many different file formats it can save to, such as its own iWorks format, PDF, Flash, Quicktime, iDVD, Plaintext, Word Doc, Powerpoint format, etc etc. MS Office can't save to those formats, just imagine using Pages to create a report for school and putting in pictures, than exporting it to PDF format, it gives an extremely professional look.

Want to see an example of it?

Here is a rough draft I'm working on (not final) in which I used Pages from iWorks to create a PDF.

Naturally I have much revisions to do to it, such as shortening up text, and simplifying it a bit more to make it easier to understand. Anyways, I just used Pages like any other normal word processor and added in some pictures and just export > PDF. That's it.

iWorks > MS Office. Once iWorks'07 comes out it'll only strengthen that position
