has anyone noticed an incredible difficulty in sending emails with attachments using gmail?

i tried this using my desktop pc and while it wasn't blazing fast, at least it went through

on my new mbp, all it says is "still working" and the file never actually gets sent in the email

    anyone else notice this?

I've had no issues with GMail. I use it with the Mail application as well as on browser.

It could possibly your MBP's connection to the network... might want to check on that. Also make sure you aren't sending any large attachment.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've experienced the same problem several times with both my my Macbook Pro at home and my Mac Pro at work :(

Sometimes gmail would also sort of "freeze" but it seems to have been fixed with the latest Safari update. I also think that sometimes it gets stuck on "still working" because the file that you're trying to attach is too large..

Always worked fine for me in Mail.app. And the website too, for that matter - in Firefox, then, as that is my browser of choice. And, as of late, on my iPhone :p

If you have problems sending but not receiving, I would suggest looking at your settings and maybe check with your ISP - some ISPs will not allow outgoing mail on the usual ports except if it goes through their server. Which just means you need to set their server as the outgoing mail server and it will work fine. That's the only advice I can give based on the information in your post at least.

    Yeah, it's my internet connection

tried it with a pc today on the same connection and the same error occurred

phew...not hardware related! (at least not on my end)

sending a 6MB file has never been so difficult :p
