ok umm...i just got my black macbook yesterday...its awesome...think i should upgrade to 1gig though...anyways is the battery like a cellphone's...you know that you have to leave it charging if you first plug it...cause i plugged it and turned it on but decided to wait to get home to plugg it register it with calm so I unplugged it after some time charging :S...i read the manual but it doesnt say anything of the first charge it just says to leave the battery calibrating alot in the first week of use

well in the booklet for the mbp it says to calibrate the battery on first use... so fully charge it and keep it plugged in at full charge for an additional 2 hours. then unplug and run it down til it shuts itself off... leave it for 5 hours on no battery. then charge to full again... it doesnt say you need to do it all the time or anything like that (although it recommends it on a regular basis) but these type of batteries have 'memory' where if you charge it from half life it damages the overall potential longevity of the battery...

hope some part of that helped

Yeah basically just have it fully charged, and run in that state for a few hours, then let it run on battery power until it kicks out, now you leave it alone with the battery still in it for 5 hours at mininum. After that turn on the computer and let it charge up again.

it's recommended to do this every other month I believe.
