at times mine would just jack up in temperature to around 80@all rpm even few minuts after a fresh reboot and last for 30minutes plus
and at times even with BT on it stays 66@ 2000rpm and left it there overnight
cpu utilization isn't too high and no where near the computer with BT on.
advice?
thanks

My new system began doing that this morning. Basically overheating and shutting down. I was also getting poor battery life.
I called Apple Tech support and they had me reset my PRAM. And everything now is working great, battery life is back to well over 2 hrs now.
Maybe you could try reseting your PRAM. I am not sure if the motion of reset PRAM is the sam on the older ones as it is on the new UNIBODY but here goes.
Shut down your system.
Remove the batery.
With the BATTERY removed press and hold the POWER button for 10 sec.
Now reinsert your battery.
With the battry reinstalled restart your system while holding
ALT-COMMAND-P-R.
Hold the buttons down doing this so that your system goe sthrough the motions of restarting 3 times.
Once that is complete, let your system restart(PLUG in AC if you can) and hopefully all will be fine for you again. -
it is doing fine as i am typing here, cool pad area and ~40 on GPU
does your macbook pro (early 08) behave lik this?
