    No, not really.

They can have a *very* slight sale, but never more than 5-10% max only on some items.

Anybody have a lower price than the Microcenter $999 deal on the 2.4ghz 13" MBP? Looks like the lowest price I've found. My wife insists that she must have a 13" MBP. :( I knew hanging at Starbucks would rub off. ;)

That's about the same as the employee discount from what I've been told.

Black Friday sale at Apple?! When pig flies. Steve Jobs will never let his company sink to that level. He just might decide all Apple stores is to be closed on Black Fridays LOL.

Seriously, I have never seen Apple discount anything. I stopped by the Apple store on Tuesday, they still had the old iPods at full price. I stopped by again on Wednesday, all the old ones were gone, replaced with the new ones. Very curious what Apple does with all the discontinued stock. Probably be wholesaled to some non Apple authorized discounters, to maintain that "no Apple products will ever be discounted" image.

Maybe this will make you feel better :)

Last generation stock are sold @ Apple.com under the clearance/refurb tab at a discount, usually 15-25% depending on model. Also @ Amazon for 15% off w/ no tax in most states.

Last year, MPBs were $100 off online, and at Apple retail stores on Black Friday, along with discounts on iMacs, etc. This even applied to Canadian prices, although Black Friday is not a special sale day in Canada.

^^^This. Student discount is about the same depending on the model you pick, the deals don't combine. Amazon.com usually runs a 4-6% discount everyday (and no sales tax depeding where you live), they also matched Apple's Black Friday pricing online last year too.

Full Apple employees (ie: those in Cupertino) get 25% off hardware, not sure about the regular Apple Store employees.

Microcenter pretty much always has the base 13" MBP for $999 after $200 INSTANT rebate. That's hands down the best deal if you don't mind the base model.

No I don't, certainly didn't speak with authority like you did with the big "."

If you call $100 a "discount" on a $1200 notebook worthy of a Black Friday sale, where as Microcenter has been selling it for $1000 for the longest time.

Did you forget what you wrote what I quoted you on above? Did you come here with intentions just to troll the forum? If so please go to the non-Apple side of NBR.

What is your problem?? The OP asked about "Black Friday" sales. You or someone else stated Apple took a whopping $100 off MBP at the last BF sale. Fine, I was wrong. Then I stated MC has the 13" MBP at $200 off for a while, and that Apple removed all discontinued stock of iPods rather than discounting them, meaning the OP is better off shopping elsewhere rather than waiting on Apple's BF "sale" for a lousy 8.4% off the 13" MBP. I haven't had the misfortune to shop on BF especially at an Apple store; I said no Apple discounts based on what I saw with their old iPod inventory.

With student discount the 13" MBP with the old 8GB iPod Touch is $1298 plus tax minus $200 mail in rebate, ~$1200 out of pocket give or take after the rebate.

The 13" MBP is $999 plus tax at Microcenter. You can go buy your own iPod, in fact the MC store near me has openbox 8GB iPod Touch for $107. Save the trouble and risk of a $200 mail in rebate.

My problem are people like you that purposely spread misinformation the forums and act like they have a sense of entitlement. I don't think you're going to find anyone here that will defend you. You're just pissed because you were wrong. If you don't know, don't make things up.

thats nice.. but Microcenter is a very small company and most people wanting to buy a Mac does not have one anywhere close by... and they only do their big discounts in store, not by ordering remotely.

That's probably 80% of the crap you read online.

I thought I used a light tone in my original response in saying that Apple doesn't like to discount their stuff; what I saw with the iPod is further proof of that. Did it sound like the end all be all that you seem to have taken it for?

    Lighten up.
