    what are the differences?
these are the ones i know already:

    led displays
    longer battery life (6 hours)
base 15" model has 2gb ram instead of only 1
2.2 GHz as opposed to the prior 2.16 (basically no difference?)
faster superdrive (8x now instead of 6x)

are there any physical design changes? it seems to look exactly the same as the older version

also, there is even less difference between the two 15" versions: they both have the same amount of ram now, the difference in graphics and GHz are the only ones that remain i think

also, there is no magnetic latch, which would have been cool

now I can finally pull the trigger and buy my first laptop/MAC!!!!!!!

GeForce 8600GT vs ATI x1600... you forgot the biggest of all.
And the 17" can have a 1900x1200 resolution as a (paid) option.

Although the clock speed jump isn't very significant, it is important to note that the new mpbs use the new santa rosa chipset - it should cause a measurable performancei increase.
